OF CHRISTMAS in CHIPPING CAMPDEN
Spirit of Christmas’s fund raising evening will run from 4pm till 8pm on Tuesday, 1st December encouraging people to raise funds for charity while enjoying the traditional spirit of Christmas with festive stalls, Father Christmas and The Rotary Club Tree of Light, to name but a few of the event's attractions.
Programmes with a full listing of events and locations will be on sale from mid-November and every £1 paid for a programme will go directly to this year’s chosen charities (see below).
The event will open with Father Christmas traveling from The Guild in Sheep Street at 4pm to the Town Hall. There will be entertainment throughout the evening alongside festive stalls run by local community groups, local businesses and local artisans. Come and enjoy mulled wine, a pig roast, hot dogs and stalls selling seasonal produce and much, much more.
This is a great opportunity to complete all your Christmas shopping in a single trip, as the vast majority of shops in town will be staying open until 8pm, while raising funds for a very worthwhile cause.
This year's charities:
The County Air Ambulance Trust (Regd. Charity No. 1057063)
Since its launch in 1991 The Midlands Air Ambulances have flown over 30,000 missions. The charity serves 10 counties in the Midlands regions covering approx 8,000 square miles and representing approximately 7.8 million people. The Golden Hour is the 60 minute period between a serious incident and treatment. Every second of every minute of every hour counts during the Golden Hour. There is often a Golden Hour between life and death. This Air Ambulance service is funded entirely by charitable donations without any money at all from the Government or the National Lottery.
The Fire Fighters Charity (Regd. Charity No. 1093387)
Every year, thousands of fire fighters are injured whilst protecting the public. Every 30 seconds in the UK, fire fighters are called to an incident, putting their lives on the line, and often sustaining physical injuries whilst carrying out their duties. The Fire Fighters Charity is there for fire fighters during their times of need, and assists over 13,500 individuals every year, by providing pioneering treatment and support services. It costs over £9 million every year to keep the Charity running, and with no government funding, it is completely reliant upon donations from the general public and fire community.
We look forward to seeing you on 1st December!
